Hon. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had launched the 'Digital India Week' from 1st July to 8th July in the national capital with a view to empower the people of the country through the Digital India Program. Digital India aims to transform the country into a digitally empowered knowledge economy. Spoken Tutorial Project is one of the leading initiative taken by IIT Bombay and successful projects under NMEICT to impart ICT enabled education and learning. Through this project, we are helping students & teachers to get IT Skills through free software Training in our college campus. This project is sponsored by MHRD, Government of India and given to all through National Mission on Education through ICT. We in Babaria Institute of Technology, BITS edu campus with support & ready consent from Hon.Chairman Shri Jagdish Patel,Hon.Vice Chairman Shri Dhruv Patel ,Hon. Campus Director Shri Sudhir Patel & Principal, Babaria Institute of Technology Shri N.D.Shah, had conducted a program on July 4th 2015 (3:00-5:00pm) to create awareness of Open Source Technologies Club of GTU under the guidance of Spoken Tutorial team, IIT Bombay in accordance with Digital India Week. The main project coordinator from Gujarat region is Ms.Madhukriti Shrivastava, IITBombay.
The program started with 5 Minute speech to introduce everyone about Digital India Week followed by 20 Minute ppt presentation of Spoken Tutorial Presentation,3 Minute Promotional Video-Spoken Tutorial Project IIT Bombay,20 Minute Spoken Tutorial Promo,30 Minute
college experience Sharing by organizer Prof.S.Suganthi ,E& C Dept.There were around 60 students from Electrical, Electronics & Communication, Mechanical. Civil & Computer Engineering branches. We have trained over the last four years around 1000 students & 200 staff members in various open source software like Libre office, Linux, Scilab, LaTeX, Python, Openfoam ,Blender etc.
This program inculcates the habit of self learning and all these programs are free of cost.
